Joining our existing field sales and technical support locations in the US, Japan, Taiwan, China, and the UK, South Korea has become the latest country to host a QuickLogic office.
As our press release states, and what is obvious to anyone who follows mobile markets, South Korea is an extremely important country. Our presence there allows us to work more closely with strategic customers throughout the design and product validation process. We believe our CSSP engagement model, coupled with unique technologies like VEE & DPO, plus catalog CSSP solutions like CAM I/F and USB-to-SDIO allow our customers a unique, highly-differentiated one-stop shop for creating hardware-differentiated devices.
Our office is up and running, complete with a top-notch sales and engineering support staff. We look forward to the future success of our newest regional office!
Paul,
Will Andy be able to announce the Tier 1 customer at the next earnings call? While I realize you cannot confirm here, I will put my guess out there for your readers:
From the last earnings call when Andy said:
“…our Arctic Link 3 VX production win had a tier one company in the consumer space…a large order from a tier 1 customer being pushed out into Q2….We are now receiving orders from this customer and began shipping during April. Due to this and other new design wins, we expect our Q2 new product revenue will be approximately $2.3 million…from an order fulfillment point of view, they wanted us to be a direct supplier, as opposed to supply them through a channel a partner.”
Next, QUIK made a point of announcing the VP of Engineering had left to take a position at Samsung
Finally, QUIK has just opened a new office in Samsung’s home country, stating “South Korea is an extremely important country. Our presence there allows us to work more closely with strategic customers throughout the design and product validation process”.
How did the VP build a close enough relationship with Samsung to get hired, and why did QUIK choose to make this information so widely known?
What Tier 1 customer is big enough to drive a 144% quarter-over-quarter rise in new product growth?
It seems to me that QUIK has landed Samsung.
Hello Seth,
Thanks for the question. I cannot comment right now about whether or not Andy will be able to announce the name of the Tier 1. If and when that changes, I will let you know.
Regards,
Paul
