Effective May 3rd, George Apostol, VP of Engineering, will be leaving QuickLogic to take on a new role as Vice President, Samsung Strategy and Open Innovation Center. In his words, “this has absolutely nothing to do with QuickLogic; I love the company, the people, the space we are in, and most importantly, the progress we are making. However, working with SSIC is a great opportunity”.
While we are disappointed, we agree with George that this is a career opportunity that comes up seldom and is one he cannot refuse. We wish him well with much onward success, and thank him for the contributions he has made during his short tenure with us. Through his vision and actions, George leaves us with the beginnings of a more focused, disciplined and capable engineering organization. He has laid an excellent foundation for his successor to develop, enhance and grow.
QuickLogic has already started an aggressive search process with a number of candidates identified and in discussion. Having engaged a candidate of George’s caliber once, we are confident that we can do so again, quickly.
Any more details on this? Do you know how he was able to build that close of a relationship with Samsung?
Hello Dennis,
We have no other comment other than what we said in the original post. Appreciate the question though!
